why does my skin tend to get darker color rather than a bronze when I'm exposed to sun ?

I'm sorry if the question is not clear, but I'm trying to get a nice tan on my skin like a bronze tan, but I noticed that my skin is getting more darker color without this glowing bronze color that people get from bed tanning. Do I have to use some kind of lotion ?

I think you are not supposed to go out in the sun and tan. it's bad for your skin and doesn't give you that gorgeous color. Personally, if I would like to tan, I would use a lotion rather than literally be sun-tanned. try L'Oreal sublime glow.
