my diamond ring in the tanning bed?
This is a very silly question ... but I am curious ..... I was tanning today and realized that my stone Multiple diamond ring has a few stones that seem to have a hazy / cloudy to it while under the ultraviolet light from the tanning bed? What do you think could be? Sorry ... I'm curious!
some diamonds are what is called fluorescence, which means they have a bluish tinge them when exposed to UV light, and doesn't mean the diamond is fake. It's probably just that the diamond is not totally cleaning (interior). The diamonds have inclusions natural, like clouds, pieces of carbon black, "feathers", or even small cracks. Therefore, doesn't mean its fake, it just means not a flawless diamond. The ultraviolet light shouldn't do anything, because the test jewelers diamonds under UV lights to test this feature.
