Seborrhoeic Eczema - Recognizing The Symptoms Is The First Step To Treat Seborrhoeic Eczema Fast!

Another type of eczema, the seborrhoeic eczema has no connection of any kind to the sebum, the oil produced by the sweat glands in the body. The name though is based from the areas in the body where sweat is more often produced like the armpits and the groins.

Unlike the confusion and the irony of the name, this type of eczema can easily be recognized. it affects all the age groups even the infants and are common equally among men and women.

The pattern of seborrhoeic eczema growth is common in the face scalp and face. There is red, oily and scaling appearance in the face, forehead, in the nose and down in the external edges of the lips. Scalp produces scaly flakes as well as in the eyebrows and in the temples of the head.

It also affects the anterior and posterior trunk. The manifestations are scaly red patches in the breast and several raised red dots across the trapezius and shoulders. In skin folds like groin, under the breast and armpits, a yellow, scaly rust is produced termed as the cradle cap. The case can be mild or moderate. In the former's state, the skin can be mildly itchy while the latter's state can be very itchy, with too much redness and over flaking.

The reason behind of seborrhoeic eczema was linked by researchers to yeast infections. So as a treatment, anti yeast agents are given but the condition can relapse and the treatment will be repeated.

Shampoos, creams and steroids are the choices of treatment. Mild oil creams and antifungal treatments are applied to reduce the irritation caused by this type of eczema. Steroid may also be prescribed bit a physician's regulation is necessary.

Seborrhoeic eczema is a skin disease that can be very irritating to anyone and may hinder your daily tasks but like other types of eczema it is a minor occurrence and is not life threatening.
