Popular Sheer Horizontal Shades Now Even Better!

One of our top sellers at Ace of Shades Window Coverings is hands down the Comfortex Shangri-La sheer shades. Not everybody is familiar with the Comfortex brand, but just about anybody has heard of the Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades. The Shangri-la is very similar in construction and functionality to the Silhouette shade. 

 Sheer blinds are made of two layers of sheers that have horizontal fabric vanes suspended between them. The overall appearance is soft and sophisticated. 2" or 3" horizontal vanes create clean symmetrical lines and are pleasing to the eye. They provide a soft screened view out when in the open position while giving UV and glare protection. The vanes can be tilted into the closed position giving privacy and light control when needed. For an unobstructed view out the shade can be rolled up completely disappearing inside the headrail. In sheer shades we find a functional combination of a drape, shade and blind all in one. 

 What about operation of the shade? Shangri-la shades are operated with a sleek continuous cord that loops itself back into the headrail and always stays at a constant length, eliminating dangerous dangling cords. For hard to reach windows or that extra convenience they can be ordered with a motorized lift. A powerful motor can operate shades up to 114" using radio frequency technology. 

 So how has this beautiful window covering improved? In the past the two sheer fabrics in front and back were of the same coarser material. The front sheer now has been replaced with a finer, more delicate material, giving the Shangri-la an even more elite appearance. The back remains the coarser sheer for an optimal view through when tilted in the open position. Especially women prefer this new material. Even though this new sheer is not a superior material and doesn't constitute a quality difference, it is perceived as nicer and might even seem more expensive as well as sophisticated. 

 Also new is the color offering. In the past the color palette mainly consisted of soft whites and off whites as well as some pastels. Though neutrals are certainly the more popular choice, there are now colors for the person that dares to be bold and create drama with color. Some of the new colors include a beautiful chocolate and even a black. Also new is a smooth honey color as well as a warm goldenrod tan.

 We find that the decorating trend goes again towards using color. Even though whites and neutrals are a great choice for the home that goes for the clean eclectic look, they can most certainly also be a great selection when a "safe" color in a window treatment is desired. However, color can completely change the dynamic of a room and bring it to life. A splash of color in your window shades can create a jolt of energy and liven up your living area. Pair it with a matching pillow or other decorative pieces and you have created a look. When combining two or three different colors, you create drama sure to draw attention.

Sheer cover and Bare minerals vs Mineral foundations from the stores?

I,ve been using Sheer cover foundation for forever and now i'm seeing in the stores a lot of options in mineral foundations, for like half the price, so my question is: has anyone tried both and which one did it work best?

I use Bare Minerals which i love, and recently bought a mineral foundation from wal-mart just to try it, and although it works, you also have to use twice as much and don't get the same results you get from Bare Minerals. it's true that they are very cheap but they are also knock off, of course they are better than other makeup you buy at a drugstore but by no means are they better than the actual BM or SC, i'd stick to the one you are using, if you love it then there's no need to change to one that will only leave you disappointed.
