Tanning has become extremely popular in today's society. Some people take it to extremes though and look orange. Have you ever got to the point where you just feel like you can't get any darker?There are a few basic steps to follow if you want to maximize your tan.

First things first, you have to use a tanning lotion, no ifs, ands, or buts. There are many, many different types of tanning lotions and they all do different things, but that is a whole other subject. The day that you are going to go tanning it's a good idea to exfoliate. Exfoliation is going to wash away all those dead skin cells. Think about it, do you want to tan on top of skin cells that are dead and just going to flake off anyway?

This brings me to my next step. In order to get a deep, dark tan you absolutely have to moisturize, a lot! I like to use a good lotion before and after tanning and in between. In your spare time just lather on some lotion. Dry skin is not going to absorb a tan very well and it will just look flaky and dry. A good product I like to use is a good after tan/ tan extender, like Hempz. Plus, this stuff smells amazing.

Another thing that I like to do, it might not be for everyone, but I like to apply a moisturizer with a bit of sel tanner in it. This just helps to boost the bronze of your tan, plus it's a moisturizer(step 3). I like to apply this after my shower, and I use Jergens Natural Glow, it's very cheap and you can find it just about anywhere.

How do I keep my hands from turning orange when using daily tanning moisturizer?

I use the Dove daily gradual tanning lotion, if i wash my hands afterwards then my arms are tan and my hands are white. if i just wipe down my hands afterwards then sometimes they still get orange.

Wash only the palms of your hands, and then dry them. Immediately after you dry them, put regular lotion on your hands and wrists. This will help blend the self tanner so that you don't have any drastic lines b/w tan and not tan.
